HIFA - THE AFTERMATH

Every year HIFA lights up the city of Harare.  Harare, the city that never sleeps goes on a 6 day cultural extravaganza of theatre, dance, music, poetry, workshops and this year fashion took centre stage as well.  Crafts and wares are sold on the main festival grounds, Harare Gardens and over the years exhibitors have come as far as Binga, Bulawayo, Mozambique, Ghana just to mention a few.  FLAME salutes the women artists who took part in the festival including Edith WeUtonga, Busi Ncube, Hope Masike, Tariro neGitare, Blackbird, Selmor Mtukudzi who in the past have worked closely with the project.  Below is just a snippet of bits of happenings at HIFA 2013, all photographs by Batsirai E Chigama
