Rutendo Machiridza
Rutendo Machiridza was born on the 27th May 1990. She started singing at the age of nine.
She is inspired by Mariah Carey and Leona Lewis. she started playing the mbira in 2003 whilst studying at the Dominican Convent out of curiosity little did she know this would become her instrument.
Since 2005 she has been performing at the national Allied Arts. in 2007 and 2008 consecutively she performed as a supporting act with the Prince Edward Jazz Band.
Beginning of 2011 became enrolled at the Zimbabwe College of music where she has just completed a certificate in music. In the same year she became part of the UMOJA southern carpet ensemble and performed at the HICC on the Day of the African child for a capacity crowd.
At the moment she is working on her solo album and is part of the outfit Savannah Afros.
